My name is Susan Greer, but I have gone by Granny Greer for the past 21 years, when my first Grandson was born. At that time I owned one of my 3 Antique Shops and started to make animals from old cutter quilts. Hense Quilted Critters by Granny Greer. I was told then I didn't look like a Granny, well gee, I was only 47. But the name stuck and to this day I am known as Granny.
I started doing more sewing and less Antiqueing. Eventually I was more into crafting and folkart. It all seemed to evolve into a nice home business for me. However, I did open a couple of Craft, Gift Shops in Virginia. The last one was Granny Greer's General Store.
I moved from Va. to Fl. in 2001. My daughter and her family had relocated to Fl. So when the opportunity came for me to follow, I took it.
I was very lucky to find a great Antique shop here, in Fl. where I have set-up shop. If you are ever in Central Fl. look us up. The shop is Cranberry Corners, 203 E. Horaitio Ave., Maitland, Fl. (it is close to downtown Orlando). There are 10 dealers and Pam, the owner in this shop. It is the only Primitive Antique Shop in the area.
I only work at the shop 2 days a month so the rest of my time is spent at home. Creating, making and selling on the internet. I live in Leesburg, Fl. with my two favorite boys, (cats that is ). Charlie and Charlies Shadow. Shadow is the kitty in the barn door of my Banners. Charlie's eyes are peeking out from the loft door .hehehe
